Tavistock Heritage Trust are holding their first ever Cream Tea Festival to celebrate Tavistock’s historical connections with this famous Devon tradition.
The event will take place on Sunday 10th June at the Bedford Hotel from 1pm until 5pm.
Local businesses getting involved are JB Preserves who will be offering some jam sampling on the day, plus Devonshire Tea will be there offering tea tasting and opportunities to purchase their delicious local tea. Langage Farm are also getting involved by donating a raffle prize. The raffle will help raise funds for the Tavistock Heritage Trust and the reopening of the Visitor Information Centre this summer.
Other local businesses who have kindly donated prizes include, The Bedford Hotel, WCP Funeral Directors, Dartmoor Cleaning Company, Pennywell Farm, Devonshire Tea, JB Preserves.
Entertainment will be provided by Tavistock Edge, Tavistock Ukuleles, Blowzone and saxophonist David Wright, and there will be children’s activities on offer as well. During the afternoon The Bedford Hotel will be serving their famous Local Devon Cream Tea and this can be purchased on the day. For every cream tea sold the Bedford Hotel will be donating £1 to the Heritage Trust.
