GA Solicitors Advises on Multi-Million Pound Hotel Purchase
The Sunny Cliff Hotel, located on the Salcombe estuary, has been purchased as part of a multi-million pound project which will see the hotel converted into six luxury apartments.
Plymouth law firm, GA Solicitors, advised Salcombe based Beacon Homes Ltd on the purchase of the hotel, turning the deal around in a just a few short weeks.
Work has now commenced on the 21 bedroom hotel which boasts its own swimming pool and moorings. The conversion is expected to take around 15 months to complete and will create six, two and three bedroom apartments.
Tony Dupreez, associate of GA Solicitors and the commercial property solicitor who advised on the purchase, commented: “This was a relatively complex matter due to the extent of the property, land and moorings. It is a fantastic building with beautiful views over the estuary. Salcombe is one of the most desirable locations in the country and there is no doubting these apartments will be very well received. The fact that each apartment will have its own mooring adds even more appeal.”

“We will now strive to create six beautiful, contemporary new homes in keeping with the Edwardian building and maximising what is arguably one of the best waterside views in the country.The scheme has been designed by Kingsbridge based architects, Derry Owen.
“Planning permission has already been granted, so work will be underway this spring, using well-known local contractors and suppliers. We hope to have the apartments on the market in the next few weeks, with the conversion completed by summer 2018.”
