As part of the Devon Remembers Heritage Project funded by The South West Heritage Trust and with the help of a team of researchers collaborating with The Plough Youth Theatre we present a play to encourage you to remember:
WW1 has broken out but the people of Devon must stand together. Torrington contribute to the war effort through their production of ‘barb gloves’ at Vaughan’s Glove Factory. The people of Barnstaple come together to raise funds for the soldiers on the front and the Belgian refugees. The people of Heathcoat’s Lace & Munitions Factory in Tiverton work together to provide shells and gas nets for the fight. This is a story about Devon communities standing together to win the battle.
