Pets in the Park!
The Family Dog Show has been one of the most popular and integral events in the Tavistock Lions’ Carnival ‘Fun day in the Meadows’ so the Club decided to include it in their Party in the Park. This regrettably had to be cancelled due to Government guidelines regarding public events during the Covid pandemic.
Now that these have been eased, the Lions are delighted to announce that they have decided to run the Dog Show as a stand-alone event in the Meadows on Sunday 1st August with entries being taken from 1pm. Full details of the classes and the Terms and Conditions of Entry can be found on the Club’s website at www.tavistocklions.org.uk and on its Facebook page. You can also pre-register online by visiting the website – and pay on the day.
There will be 4 pedigree classes and 7 novelty classes including Best Child Handler under 12 years, the Best Tail Wagger and the one with the Most Appealing Eyes. Also included by the Club for the first time that it has run the show will be 4 classes for cross breeds such as the cockapoo and the beddy/whippet which have become so popular over the last few years. There will be medals awarded to all class winners and rosettes for up to 4th place with Best in Show and Reserved Best in Show for the breed classes. There will also be Best and Reserve Best for the novelty classes.
The Lions are delighted to welcome Mrs.Jade Curtis BSc as the show judge and Ron’s Pets, which has sponsored the show and provided many of the prizes.
