A local photographer with a very international portfolio, born in Devon, Tommy has travelled, worked and photographed all over the globe. His camera has been intrinsic to this journey as he explores the environment around him. Along with a smile Tommy's camera is a universal icebreaker to amazing people, places and experiences. Relationships are at the heart of this exhibition, each portrait has a story behind and beyond it; some of these portraits were created within minutes, while others were created over many years of friendship and shared experiences which continue today. Ultimately each portrait is a window in time where you can connect to the subject while standing in Tommy's shoes as he captures the essence of the moment, the people and the relationship. In 2017 Tommy's image 'Night School’ was selected from 6000 worldwide entries to feature as part of the Taylor Wessing Portrait Prize exhibition displayed at the National Portrait Gallery in London.
The exhibition includes portraits from visits to Uganda, India and other countries, and can be viewed from 10:00am – 4:00pm each day at Tavistock Wharf.
