Chagfarm mission
Chagford will host its first food festival this month
Chagford is holding its first food festival on Sunday, September 12th from 11am until 4pm in the town square.
The various food and drink stalls will have an international flavour, including Thai curries, Spanish paellas, French crepes and patisserie. These are complemented by genuine Dartmoor beef burgers and a prestigious local hotel will be on hand with speciality afternoon teas. Popular Dartmoor distilleries will be showcasing local gins and a variety of different liqueurs, while chocoholics will not be disappointed by a selection of locally made chocolates. Chagford’s four hostelries will be joining in and many of the shops will open specially.
As befits a food festival in a rural area, Chagfood, our local organic farm, will be on hand to show how you can eat well and reduce food miles. This is complemented by The Edible Garden Nursery from nearby Whiddon Down, providing a huge selection of plants and herbs.
There will be children’s entertainment from a skilled juggler and unicyclist and free up cycling workshops courtesy of Proper Job, plus musical entertainment from a variety of performers.
There is free overflow parking in the market field on the edge of town, with a complimentary shuttle bus.
