This year has seen Mount Kelly pupils excel once again in their A Levels, with the vast majority gaining places at the universities of their choice, including Oxford, Durham and Imperial College.
Whilst close to a third of all papers were awarded A*-A, 15% were graded at A*, an increase of 25% on last year. This significantly exceeds the national average of 8% at A*, and bucks the national trend of the last five years which has seen a marked decline in the number of A* grades awarded.
A number of pupils achieved straight A* and A grades, securing 100% in a range of papers. Nico Cording and Jordan Channon were both awarded four A*s, whilst the Head Boy, Harry Dunlop, secured three A*s.
The Head Master, Mark Semmence, commented, “I am delighted for all our leavers. Their success at A Level clearly reflects not only their commitment and hard work, but also the dedication of all our staff. With record numbers in our Sixth Form, these results augur very well for the future of the School and are a great credit to the pupils. Well done to all.”
