Dartmoor Brewery, home of the famous Jail Ale, is celebrating three wins at the World Beer Awards.
Jail Ale, which has been brewed on Dartmoor for the past 27 years, picked up a Silver in the prestigious global awards, whilst the popular Dartmoor IPA gained a Bronze award. Newcomer to the brewery’s portfolio, the limited edition Ice Warrior Ale, was awarded Silver.
The World Beer Awards is a global scheme which selects the very best in all the internationally recognised beer styles, and promotes the world’s best beers to consumers and trade across the globe.
Jail Ale is a deep golden-brown beer, with a well-rounded flavour and a rich, moreish aftertaste, and is produced at Dartmoor Brewery’s Princetown facility – the highest brewery in England.
Dartmoor IPA is a golden coloured beer with a unique blend of hops that combine to create a superb earthy, floral and spicy flavour, finished off with tropical and citrus notes.
The limited edition Ice Warrior Ale made an appearance in 2021, after the brewery teamed up with Dartmoor-based polar exploration project, Ice Warrior, to launch a new beer which captured the spirit of exploration and outdoor experience.
Dartmoor Brewery ales are found in pubs across the South West, and increasingly further afield. A surge in demand for home-delivery fuelled by the COVID19 pandemic has also driven strong growth in Dartmoor Brewery’s online sales business, shipping traditional ales to a national audience.
