Beginners and experienced artists can enjoy a day spent painting and sketching.
Kristin Vincent will share her enthusiasm for The Garden House as an ideal location for capturing beautiful images of flowers and views across the garden to the surrounding countryside and church. The day is suitable for both beginners and those with some experience.
Your day will begin with drawing exercises to loosen you up. If weather permits there will be drawing outside. If not, then enjoy painting and sketching in the Fortescue Room, which is a lovely, light, high-ceilinged room that looks out onto the garden. You will be able to bring the outside indoors by painting from images as well as cut flowers.
There will be an opportunity to work in tones from your images and in the afternoon, there will be a demonstration and the chance to apply texture to your paintings, producing some effective and unusual results.
You will need to bring watercolour paints, a palette for mixing colours, watercolour brushes in a variety of sizes, a vessel for water and a 2B pencil. Watercolour paper or pads of 140/300gsm, rough, are recommended and you may want to bring along a sketch book too.
