IdeasLAB
Saturday 16 December
The Lab
Tickets go on sale to Friends and Priority Bookers on Mon 10 July, to Groups and Schools on Wed 12 July and to the general public on Tue 18 July.
IdeasLAB is Theatre Royal Plymouth’s platform for the sharing and development of early-stage new work.
The evening is an opportunity for artists and companies to try out some brand new ideas in front of an audience and receive feedback.
This time round we have 4 exciting, Plymouth-based acts who will be presenting 15 minutes extracts of their work, all of which take gender as their starting point.
Here’s a taste of what’s on offer:
Nicole Redfern presents Bulls***, a new piece which looks at the sport of Professional Bull Riding and its ingrained gender roles.
Ryan Wilce and Fynn Roberts are developing a show exploring how humour can be used as a coping mechanism.
Mich Sanderson is sharing an extract from her new play, Smalltown Boys, which charts the journeys of two LGBTQ characters.
Flip The Bird are presenting an extract from Truce, a new show that looks the inherent and unspoken competition ingrained in girls from a young age.
IdeasLAB always proves to be an eclectic mix of fresh, brave and bold ideas by some of the most exciting artists making work in the South West. If you are interested in seeing brand new shows in their formative stages and being part of that development, then IdeasLAB could be just the evening for you.
