We warmly invite you to join us for our Service of Celebration and Thanksgiving on Thursday 25th January 2018 at 7.00pm in St. Eustachius’ Church, Tavistock. The service will help tell the team's story, celebrate our journey over the past 50 years and bring to life a team which in many ways is hidden from public view. There will be a short account of how the team started and examples of how the team has evolved over time. Members of the team will also be present and wearing a variety of the team’s kit and equipment. We look forward to giving thanks for the volunteers who make up the Search and Rescue Team and the wider community who supports them and we also hope to premiere our new promotional video. Invitations for this special event have already been accepted by a number of national and local figures including David Fursdon Esq, Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Devon, the Mayors of Tavistock and West Devon Borough, representatives from the Armed Forces who run the annual Ten Tors event on Dartmoor, senior figures within Mountain Rescue England and Wales, the Emergency Services, as well as local schools and uniformed groups. The service and refreshments afterwards are open to all those who would like to come and join us as we celebrate and give thanks for 50 years of Tavistock’s Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team.
